Job summary

North Richland Hills City Hall is seeking a full-time heavy equipment operator to support water, wastewater, and storm drain projects. You will prepare and operate construction gear, perform maintenance, repair equipment, and ensure crew and public safety.

Required: high school diploma or GED, two years of experience operating and servicing heavy equipment, and a valid Texas Class A CDL with tanker endorsement. Typical schedule Monday–Thursday 7:00 am–5:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to install and repair water, wastewater, and storm drain lines.

• Assist with street repairs, operate street equipment, maintain vehicles, and document work.
• Interact with City employees and residents; provide direction to other employees as needed.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to operate heavy equipment and machinery to assist in the installation and repair of the City's water, wastewater, and storm drain lines. This is accomplished by preparing machinery and equipment for use, operating heavy utility construction equipment, performing preventative maintenance on equipment, repairing equipment as necessary, ensuring safety of public and assisting crew with manual tasks. Other duties may include directing traffic, ensuring worksite and work crew safety, assisting with street repairs, operating street equipment, maintaining vehicles, documenting work completed, and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position does provide direction to other employees.
