Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Loader Operator to support our asphalt milling operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating a skid steer/loader in high-traffic construction zones and will play a vital role in the removal and cleanup of milled asphalt materials. This position requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate skid loader (Bobcat or similar) to remove and load milled asphalt into trucks.
Assist with job site preparation and cleanup before, during, and after milling.
Work closely with milling machine operators and ground crew to maintain a smooth operation.
Transport materials such as asphalt grindings, dirt, or debris to appropriate locations on site.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform minor maintenance to ensure proper functioning.
Adhere to all safety procedures, traffic control regulations, and company policies.
Assist in setting up and breaking down traffic control devices and signage.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Requirements:
Proven experience operating skid steers, especially in a roadwork or asphalt environment.
Knowledge of asphalt milling process is .
Ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus).
Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions.
Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in asphalt or road construction
Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment troubleshooting
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $30-$35 an hour
