Position: Equipment Operator / Peeler – Full Time
Location: Chambersburg, PA
Schedule: Full-Time | Night Shift
Overview:
We are currently hiring a reliable and detail-focused Equipment Operator/Peeler to join our team in Chambersburg, PA. This role is essential in the initial stages of production, handling raw product and operating peeling equipment to ensure our quality and food safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and unload raw product; load into hoppers and operate the peeling station located in the basement
Sort out defective product and foreign materials; ensure proper peeling and washing
Maintain communication with kettle operators to align with production schedules and customer requirements
Monitor hopper levels to ensure continuous and correct flow of product to the kettles
Safely operate, adjust, and maintain conveyor systems and powered equipment
Monitor raw material quality and uphold food safety practices
Remove waste as needed and ensure all containers are emptied for the next shift
Accurately complete all required documentation and logs
Promptly report equipment issues or product concerns to maintenance and management
Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, loaders, and stretch wrappers (training provided)
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and production areas
Work collaboratively with team members and provide support for lunches and breaks
Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Plant Manager, or upper management
Qualifications:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, wet, oily, and noisy environment
Willingness to follow all safety procedures, GMPs, and company policies
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience with food production or operating machinery is a plus, but not required
Must be able to lift, stand, bend, and work on your feet for extended periods
Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to be trained)
