A leading company is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to manage construction equipment for water supply and wastewater projects. The role involves operating heavy machinery, performing maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance. Candidates must have significant experience and a valid Maryland CDL.
Job Summary:
Operates heavy construction equipment to build and maintain water supply and wastewater disposal lines and facilities, access roads and adjacent terrain; services machines; makes repairs and adjustments on machines and equipment; assists mechanic with major repairs.Essential Functions:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (These are pre-employment KSA that apply only to Essential Job Functions.):
Required Qualifications (Note: Any acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted on a full-time year for year basis.):
Training and/or Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and five or more years of experience operating heavy equipment; three years of which must have been at the journeyman level
Experience:
Orequivalenttechnicaltraining,education,and/orexperience
Licenses or Certificates:
Must possess a valid Maryland Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or obtain within 18 months.
Must obtain a Water Distribution License within 18 months.

Physical Demands:
Work requires constant physical effort in the handling of heavy tools, equipment, or materials or 60 pounds or more.
Unusual Demands:
Work environment involves high risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts and machines. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, goggles, boots and gloves; may require working in adverse weather conditions or confined spaces.
