Superior Bowen Asphalt Company, LLC is seeking an Equipment Operations Coordinator to support the Equipment Division in field-based coordination of preventive maintenance, inspections, and fleet readiness across active projects. You will visit job sites, assist with equipment planning, track maintenance and records, and help communicate between field operations, dispatch, and the equipment shop.

No repair work is performed by this role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel regularly to construction job sites.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in heavy construction equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Visit active job sites to inspect equipment condition and support field operations.
  • Assist project teams in identifying equipment needs and coordinating equipment availability.
  • Monitor fleet readiness and communicate equipment status with dispatch and equipment leadership.
  • Assist with seasonal fleet readiness and equipment planning.
  • Coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance with field operations and the equipment shop.
  • Track upcoming and overdue preventive maintenance services.
  • Verify machine hours and equipment locations.
  • Assist with scheduling equipment to minimize project downtime.
  • Maintain equipment records, inspection documentation, and maintenance status updates.
  • Support warranty documentation and vendor service coordination as needed.
  • Promote proper equipment care and daily inspection practices.
  • Prepare routine reports on maintenance status, inspections, and fleet activity.
  • Support inventory counts, equipment records, and other departmental projects.
  • Assist leadership with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Description

The Equipment Operations Coordinator supports the Equipment Division by coordinating preventive maintenance activities, conducting job site visits, assisting with equipment inspections, and facilitating communication between field operations, dispatch, and the equipment shop. This field-based role helps ensure equipment is properly maintained, available for operations, and ready to support project needs through effective coordination, documentation, and operational support.

This position does not perform mechanical repairs, diagnostics, or maintenance work. All repair and maintenance activities remain the responsibility of qualified Equipment Technicians.

Duties/Responsibilities
Equipment Operations Support
  • Conduct regular visits to active job sites to inspect equipment condition and support field operations.
  • Assist project teams in identifying equipment needs and coordinating equipment availability.
  • Monitor fleet readiness and communicate equipment status with dispatch and equipment leadership.
  • Assist with seasonal fleet readiness and equipment planning.
Preventive Maintenance Coordination
  • Coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance with field operations and the equipment shop.
  • Track upcoming and overdue preventive maintenance services.
  • Verify machine hours and equipment locations.
  • Assist with scheduling equipment to minimize project downtime.
  • Follow up on completed maintenance activities and maintain accurate records.
Equipment Inspections
  • Perform routine equipment inspections to identify cleanliness, damage, safety concerns, and maintenance needs.
  • Document inspection findings using photos and written reports.
  • Communicate inspection results to equipment management.
  • Verify equipment is properly prepared for transport, rental, or assignment to projects.
Work Order & Documentation Support
  • Receive maintenance concerns from operators and field personnel.
  • Assist in creating accurate work requests and documenting reported issues.
  • Maintain equipment records, inspection documentation, and maintenance status updates.
  • Support warranty documentation and vendor service coordination as needed.
Operator & Field Support
  • Promote proper equipment care and daily inspection practices.
  • Answer basic equipment-related questions from field personnel.
  • Assist with operator onboarding related to equipment procedures.
  • Help develop simple reference guides, checklists, and equipment resources.
Administrative & Communication Support
  • Maintain communication between field personnel, dispatch, and the equipment shop.
  • Prepare routine reports on maintenance status, inspections, and fleet activity.
  • Support inventory counts, equipment records, and other departmental projects.
  • Assist leadership with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Requirements
