Job summary

The City of West Monroe is seeking a maintenance worker to operate and maintain equipment such as mower, backhoe, skid steer, and asphalt roller, and to perform general grounds keeping across city properties.

You will mow grass, trim trees with chainsaws, inspect and service equipment daily, assist with concrete and asphalt work, clear storm debris, and contribute to storm cleanup efforts. Regular pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Louisiana Driver’s License.
• Able to perform moderate physical activity under varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Mow grass in city rights-of-way and city property.
• Use chainsaws to clear trees or limbs from right-of-ways.
• Inspect, clean and service equipment daily or as needed.
• Assist with concrete and asphalt work.
• Clear debris from storm drainage inlets, ditches, and culverts.
• Assist with storm-related cleanup.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
