Job summary

The City of West Monroe is seeking a maintenance worker to operate and maintain equipment such as mower, backhoe, skid steer, and asphalt roller, and to perform general grounds keeping across city properties.

You will mow grass, trim trees with chainsaws, inspect and service equipment daily, assist with concrete and asphalt work, clear storm debris, and contribute to storm cleanup efforts. Regular pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Louisiana Driver’s License.
• Able to perform moderate physical activity under varying conditions.

SPECIFIC TASKS, DUTIES, & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mow grass in various city rights-of-way and city property.
• Use chainsaws to cut or remove trees or tree limbs from right-of-ways.
• Inspect, clean and service equipment each day of operation or as needed.
• Assist with concrete and asphalt work.
• Clearing debris from storm drainage inlets, ditches, and culverts.
• Assist with storm related cleanup.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

WORKER REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
• Valid Louisiana Driver’s License
• Able to work under varying conditions and to perform moderate physical activity.

HOURS/SCHEDULING

• Monday-Friday
• 7am-4pm
• Regular
