Job summary

The City of West Monroe is seeking a Maintenance worker for Kiroli Park to provide labor and support for maintenance projects, event setup, and regular cleanup. Tasks include trash removal, restroom cleaning, playground and facility upkeep, and assisting with community service tasks.

Candidate should be able to work in varying conditions, lift up to 50lbs+, and operate with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork. Hours include evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Able to comprehend, retain, and carry out instructions, as well as anticipate logistics.
• Able to multitask.
• Sound knowledge of safety measures and risk management strategies.
• Organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Trash removal and trail maintenance within the park system.
• Cleaning all restrooms thoroughly.
• Coordinating and supervising community service tasks.
• General maintenance and repairs on playground equipment, bridges, shelters, structures, requiring light carpentry work with various tools.
• Assisting other areas with any needs, requests, or complaints.
• Attentive to the public/monitor inappropriate behavior and communicate with park goers when park rules are in violation.
• Setting up, cleaning and taking down for park events and shelter rentals.
• Mowing and groundskeeping.
• Irrigation repair.
• General maintenance of all city parks.
• Christmas light set up and take down.
• All other duties as assigned
