Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience with golf course maintenance equipment highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license.
• Technical/mechanical education or certification a plus.
• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems often preferred.

Responsibilities

• Equipment maintenance and repair of turf machinery and equipment.
• Fleet management and scheduling of maintenance and servicing.
• Maintain and organize parts inventory; track hours and servicing needs.
• Coordinate equipment rotations and seasonal maintenance; manage warranties.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain OSHA-related documentation.

Primary responsibilities include:Equipment maintenance & repairMaintain and repair mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, aerators, reels, carts, and other turf equipmentDiagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine problemsPerform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicingSharpen and maintain mower reels/bladesFleet managementMaintain an inventory of all course equipmentTrack equipment hours, maintenance schedules, repairs, and replacement needsCoordinate equipment rotations and seasonal maintenanceManage warranties and service recordsParts & inventoryOrder parts, supplies, lubricants, filters, etc.Maintain an organized parts inventoryDevelop relationships with equipment manufacturers and vendorsMonitor costs and purchasingSafety & complianceEnsure equipment is properly maintained and safe to operateTrain employees on proper equipment operation and safetyMaintain OSHA/safety-related documentation as applicableEnsure equipment meets manufacturer requirementsBudgetingHelp develop the maintenance/equipment budgetMonitor repair and parts expensesRecommend when equipment should be repaired versus replacedAssist with capital equipment purchasesRequired SkillsHigh school diploma/GEDSeveral years of experience repairing turf, agricultural, construction, or industrial equipmentExperience with golf course maintenance equipment is highly desirableValid driver's licenseTechnical/mechanical education or certification is a plusExperience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems is often preferredPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentProlonged periods working on vehicles and equipment.Must be physically able to access vehicles and equipment either by kneeling or lying on back.Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
