Job summary

Confidential 3PL and freight brokerage in the Toledo area is seeking an Equipment Manager to lead the equipment operation, manage road service and repairs, and advise leadership on cost-saving opportunities.

You will handle breakdowns, coordinate dispatch, and negotiate with repair shops while maintaining strict cost controls to keep loads moving on time.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience repairing heavy-duty trucks, trailers or similar equipment (required)
• Strong computer skills and solid Excel
• Ability to troubleshoot problems by phone with a driver on the side of the road
• Comfort negotiating with vendors and pushing back on bad invoices
• Willingness to take 24/7 on-call duty for after-hours breakdowns
• Dispatch experience or truck/fleet management experience is a plus

Our owner-operator program is expanding, and we need a leader for our equipment operation: running road service and repairs, controlling cost, managing vendors and advising leadership on equipment decisions.
