Job summary

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. seeks an Equipment Service & Maintenance Technician Intern for Summer 2027 in Lincoln, AL.

You will work alongside veteran maintenance mentors to gain hands-on technical skills troubleshooting industrial robotics, PLCs, and manufacturing machinery. Housing accommodations or a monthly housing stipend are provided, with 1-on-1 technician mentorship and pathways to permanent technician positions after graduation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an Associate degree or certificate program in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical/Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance technicians with preventative and emergency repair work on automated production equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues across manufacturing lines.
• Support line-side electrical wiring, limit switch installations, and sensor calibrations.
• Maintain work order logs, documentation, and root cause countermeasure tracking.
• Participate in building facility maintenance including HVAC and power distribution inspections.

About the Role:

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is seeking an Equipment Service & Maintenance Technician Intern for Summer 2027 in Lincoln, AL. Working alongside veteran maintenance mentors, you will gain hands-on technical skills troubleshooting industrial robotics, PLCs, and manufacturing machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist maintenance technicians with preventative and emergency repair work on automated production equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues across manufacturing lines.
• Support line-side electrical wiring, limit switch installations, and sensor calibrations.
• Maintain work order logs, documentation, and root cause countermeasure tracking.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an Associate degree or certificate program in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical/Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Freshman standing or above with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
• Foundational knowledge of mechanical systems, basic industrial electricity, and machine tools.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and reliable transportation to the manufacturing facility.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
