Job summary

Sierra Circuits, a Silicon Valley PCB leader in Sunnyvale, CA, seeks an Equipment Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair facilities and equipment across the site.

The role requires 2–4 years of maintenance experience, knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, PLC ladder logic, and CMMS; second shift 2:30 PM–11:00 PM; competitive hourly pay with full benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to understand PLC ladder logic.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
• Ability to work with voltages from 5V DC to 480V AC.
• Operate a forklift if needed and maintain safety procedures.
• Fluent in English and able to communicate professionally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic inspections on equipment according to Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
• Perform preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and unsafe conditions.
• Respond promptly to job requisitions and complete tasks.
• Use proper tools and techniques safely and professionally.
• Research, order, and prepare spare parts cost-effectively.
• Report potential problems to the Maintenance Manager.
• Maintain clean/ safe work environment and assist with housekeeping.
• Interact professionally with managers, co-workers, and vendors.
• Be available for emergency maintenance.
• May operate a forklift.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:

The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of routine and emergency maintenance to all Sierra Circuits, Inc. facilities and equipment as directed by the Maintenance & Facilities Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Conduct periodic inspections on assigned equipment according to Preventive Maintenance Schedule (ISO Form 11-01-01-B).
• Perform preventative maintenance work on equipment and machineries to prevent breakdowns, costly repairs, and the development of unsafe conditions.
• Promptly respond to and complete job requisitions according to request forms and submit to Maintenance.
• Use proper tools and techniques to perform the required tasks in a professional and safe manner.
• Research, order, and prepare spare parts needed with the most cost-effective solution.
• Report any potential problems to the Maintenance Manager.
• Perform daily housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Interact professionally and diplomatically with managers, co-workers, and vendors.
• Be available for emergency maintenance.
• May be required to operate a forklift.
• Cleans shop and parts area at the end of every shift
• Other duties as assigne

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma, or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
• Strong Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems, as well as industrial equipment and machinery.
• Be able to understand PLC ladder logic
• Ability to work with Voltage from ( 5V DC to 480V AC )
• Ability to assemble and align gears, bearings, and shafts
• Ability to inspect equipment for defects
• Ability to install and maintain various pipe systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Fluent in English
• Possess basic computer skills to complete work orders and other computer work as directed
• Experience with Preventive maintenance programs ( CMMS )
• High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality
• Understanding of safety and environmental regulations
• Ability to lift and work in physically demanding conditions
• Ability to operate a forklift if needed
• Follow and adhere to Lock-out / Tag-out procedures at all times
• Cleans shop and parts area at the end of every shift

SALARY:

$25.00 - $35.00 Hourly

SHIFT:

2nd Shift: 2:30PM- 11:00PM

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The ability to lift 20 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend, stand, or climb on step ladders as necessary.

ENVIRONMENT:

• The manufacturing facility is exposed to electronics assembly equipment and materials.
• May require working in a controlled environment with specific temperature and humidity requirements.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to perform the work.
• Production floor- Machine shop environment
