Join Our Team as an Equipment Maintenance Technician at SkyWater Technology

SkyWater Technology is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team in Bloomington, MN. Our company is dedicated to advancing semiconductor manufacturing to improve lives worldwide through innovative technologies and manufacturing excellence.

Position Overview

The Equipment Maintenance Technician will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and install semiconductor fabrication equipment. This role is based in the Photo department and works on a rotating shift schedule: Sunday through Tuesday one week, and Sunday through Wednesday the next, from 6:00 am to 6:15 pm.

Responsibilities

1. Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment per layout plans and manuals.
2. Utilize diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
3. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on production equipment.
4. Maintain documentation to meet quality standards.
5. Rebuild and modify equipment as needed and participate in team initiatives like 5S+ and CIP.
6. Manage small projects and work with external vendors as required.
7. Handle chemicals and gases safely and maintain critical spares inventory.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent military training/experience in Science, Math, Engineering, or Semiconductor Manufacturing.
• Experience with electromechanical, fluidic troubleshooting, repair, and modifications.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and documentation with high attention to detail.
• Strong project management and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with Windows OS, MS Office, and hand tools.

Physical and Other Requirements

• Lift at least 50 lbs.
• Work 12-hour shifts, including handling chemicals and wearing cleanroom attire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic systems, servo systems, vision components, chillers, and vacuum systems.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry and with robotic/automated systems.
