Job summary

Coherent Corp. in San Jose, CA is seeking an experienced engineer to support ion implantation process equipment and related systems. You will collaborate with maintenance, process engineering, and vendors to optimize performance and implement upgrades.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in ion implantation or semiconductor equipment with UHV, fluent English, and strong communication and organizational skills. This on-site role requires familiarity with cleanroom environments and ITAR compliance.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering or Some College and 10+ years of experience.
• Experience in ion implantation or semiconductor equipment with Ultra High Vacuum (UHV).
• Fluent in English (written & verbal).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; able to work with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Supports all Innovion process equipment and sites.
• Supports maintenance staff and process engineering.
• Works with vendors, second source part supplier, machine shops, and OEM equipment makers to optimize equipment performance.
• Drives retrofits and upgrades to maximize implanter performance.
• Works toward defectivity and cost-of-ownership reduction and other CI programs.
• Performs all activities safely and complies with EHS and Security requirements.
• ITAR compliance: must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
