Job summary

X-fab Texas Inc. in Texas is seeking an Equipment Engineer to provide technical support for manufacturing equipment. The role focuses on improving availability, reducing scrap, and lowering cost of ownership through proactive maintenance, debugging PLC programs, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will repair and maintain process equipment, interface with multiple teams including vendors, and train junior staff while building deep expertise in equipment troubleshooting and PM optimization.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience in a technical field.

Responsibilities

• Provide equipment engineering support and work to improve equipment availability, scrap reduction, and cost of ownership.
• Assist in maintaining PLC programs for the Equipment Engineering group.
• Repair and maintain process equipment.
• Interface with manufacturing, process engineering, vendors, and other groups to resolve equipment and production problems.
• Identify and correct root causes of scrap and chronic downtime.
• Train new employees and assist technicians as needed.
• Become an expert on equipment repair and troubleshooting.
• Set PM schedules and procedures and stock levels for spare parts.

Function/Duties:Provide equipment engineering support. Work to improve equipment availability, scrap, and cost of ownership.
