Rihm Family Companies in Red Wing, MN is seeking an Entry level Equipment Detailer-I to recondition and repair vehicles under supervision. You will schedule workflow, wash and detail trucks, perform basic repairs, and document work performed to ensure timely completion.

The role emphasizes safety, accurate reporting, and collaboration with supervisors and technicians in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical repair with analytical and reasoning skills.
• Trade school certification in automotive or truck maintenance and repair preferred.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and stage equipment reconditioning for the department.
• Accept assigned jobs from Supervisor and complete them to standard.
• Wash and detail/recondition trucks, both new and used.
• Diagnose causes and perform basic repairs as directed.
• Document work performed and report any defects to supervision.
• Maintain tools and keep work areas safe and organized.

Position Summary:

Efficiently and effectively work with the Used Equipment Sales Representative (supervisor), technicians, and determine schedule for Equipment Detailer-I to recondition and repair vehicles and components.

Essential Position Functions/Responsibilities:

• Schedule and stage equipment reconditioning process for the department
• Accept assigned jobs from Supervisor
• Wash and detail/recondition new and used trucks
• Perform required work at or above efficiency standards
• Participate in training as required
• Work with Supervisor to diagnose cause and malfunction and perform basic repairs as directed by Supervisor or other technicians
• Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further reconditioning or repairs are needed or recommended
• Communicate with supervisor immediately if additional repairs are needed, if outlined work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed in a reasonable or promised time
• Document in detail, work performed on repairs
• Report tool, machinery, or equipment defects to supervisor
• Keep reconditioning areas clean and safe
• Maintain and be accountable for all company owned tools, materials and equipment
• Understand and comply with all federal, state and local regulations
• Perform all duties and activities in a safe manner
• Report any safety issues immediately to a supervisor
• Other duties to meet business requirements

QualificationsEducation & Essential Qualifications:

• Experience in mechanical repair along with intermediate mechanical, analytical, and reasoning skills

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
• The employee is regularly required to use arms, hands and fingers to feel, grasp, push, pull or squeeze and reach
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear
• The employee is often required to climb and occasionally required to balance

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration
• The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
