Job summary

San Diego Wave Fútbol Club is seeking an Equipment Coordinator to support players and the technical team. This full-time role ensures equipment operations are seamless for trainings, games, and travel.

You will manage setup, laundry, apparel distribution, inventory, and transport logistics, working weekends and holidays as needed. Strong organization, teamwork, and a passion for women’s professional sports are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in a professional sports environment is a plus.
  • Ability to work weekends, game days, and non-traditional hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Ability to stand and stay active for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Professional, positive, proactive attitude.
  • Strong communication and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to take on responsibilities in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Passion for women’s professional sports.
  • Intermediate MS Office knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily equipment management including setup and breakdown for training sessions and game days.
  • Support the technical team and players during trainings and matches.
  • Assist in apparel distribution to players and staff.
  • Launder apparel and clean equipment after practices and games.
  • Maintain and organize inventory of equipment, apparel, and footwear.
  • Prepare gear for away games and coordinate transport and logistics.
  • Support home game day equipment needs including setup and breakdown.
  • Serve as liaison to visiting teams for equipment needs.

Job description

We are on a mission to build a world class home for players and fans that will be loved locally and respected globally. And we are seeking an Equipment Coordinator to join our mission by supporting our players and technical team. This is a full-time role where our Equipment Coordinator is responsible for assisting with all equipment operations to ensure players have what they need when they need it (which means working most weekends and some holidays while in season). The position pays between $20-$25 per hour depending upon experience.

At Wave FC, we collaborate as a team, so this position works with internal teams, players, and visiting teams.

Role & Responsibiliites
  • Share in our mission.
  • Assist with daily equipment management including set-up and breakdown for training sessions and on game days.
  • Assist and support technical team and players during trainings and matches.
  • Assist in apparel distribution to players and technical team.
  • After each training and game, launder apparel and clean soiled equipment.
  • Maintain and organize inventory of equipment, apparel, and footwear.
  • For away games, prepare and pack necessary apparel and equipment for traveling team.
  • During away games, responsible for all set-up and break-down of equipment used at training facility by players not traveling.
  • Assist with equipment transportation to and from training facility, stadiums, bus/van/shuttle, and airport check-ins (note: this position does not travel with the team).
  • Support home game day equipment responsibilities including planning, prepping, set-up, break-down, and clean-up.
  • Act as a liaison and assist visiting team with equipment needs.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as business needs evolve.
QUALIFIED?
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in a professional sports environment preferred
  • Ability to work weekends, game days, and other non-traditional hours, including occasional overnight/graveyard shifts, based on team and event schedules
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently and without assistance
  • Ability to stand and remain physically active for extended periods, including shifts of up to 8 hours, with the ability to walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform other physical activities required to support equipment operations
  • Professional, positive, and proactive
  • Effective communication skills, strong attention to detail, and solutions-orientated
  • Desire and ability to take on responsibilities in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Passion for the success of Women’s Professional Sports
  • Intermediate applied knowledge of MS Office suite
