Job summary

Trane Technologies in the United States is seeking a project manager with HVAC experience to validate project scope, generate submittals, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, owners, and field staff to keep projects on track.

This role emphasizes strong communication, customer service, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, with on-site work Monday through Thursday and flexible Friday location.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in engineering or equivalent; 2 years PM/HVAC experience.
  • Or 4 years PM or related experience; equivalent combination.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently or on a team.

Responsibilities

  • Validates project scope, lists deviations, and optimizes on assigned projects.
  • Generates submittals and answers technical questions from engineers and contractors.
  • Communicates with owners, contractors, and field staff; resolves concerns and maintains satisfaction.
  • Compares ship dates with project schedules; ensures compliance with ordering processes.
  • Maintains forecasted cost at completion; monitors project budget.
  • Enters equipment orders, issues purchases, and creates work orders for start-ups.
  • Uses Worksight, Trane Select Assist, and vendor software as needed.

Where Is The Work

Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

What you will do:

  • Validates project scope, listing deviations, and optimization on assigned projects.
  • Generates project submittals and answers technical support questions asked by engineers and contractors.
  • Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff. Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
  • Compares estimated ship dates with contractors project schedule and ensures compliance with internal equipment ordering processes.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion and controls expenses by monitoring assigned project budget.
  • Responsible for entering equipment orders, issuing purchase, and generating work orders for equipment start-ups
  • Able to use necessary computer programs and selection software (i.e. Worksight, Trane Select Assist, vendor selection software/websites, etc.)
What you will bring:
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of project management, equipment, HVAC or related experience; OR a minimum of four (4) years of project management, equipment, HVAC or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature equipment preferred.
  • Strong, demonstrated customer service and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high paced environment with attention to detail.
