Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Bluegrass Equine Surgery in Versailles, KY, seeks an Equine Veterinary Hospital Office Assistant to support a busy hospital team during high-stress client encounters.

You will handle clerical tasks, manage calendars, greet clients, answer phones, and coordinate appointments using Office 365, ezyVet and FileMaker.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have experience with the equine industry, understanding of the Thoroughbred industry in central Kentucky.
• Experience in veterinary practice settings.
• Experience answering phones, handling client communications.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and assist clients professionally.
• Maintain calendars, including surgeon's in-clinic patient calendar.
• Prepare admission/discharge documents and health certificates.
• Send reports to clients for horse-related transactions.
• Respond to inquiries about services and route to staff as needed.
• Receive and distribute mail; manage outgoing mail.
• Coordinate and schedule appointments and provide reminders.
• Use Office 365, ezyVet and FileMaker to support daily operations.
• Greet clients in the lobby and handle onsite interactions.
• Maintain lobby cleanliness and organize storage areas.
• Work weekends during horse sales as needed.
