Job summary

The EPS Production Coordinator at Amarr oversees daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of garage door sections, components, and related parts. This role provides leadership and hands-on support to the production team while maintaining schedules and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, assign, and coordinate daily activities of RPS team members to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor production workflow to meet daily schedules, department goals, and customer delivery requirements.
  • Provide hands-on assistance during high-volume production periods, staffing shortages, or operational challenges.
  • Communicate daily production priorities, performance expectations, and departmental objectives to employees.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and issue resolution.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Ensure materials, components, and production supplies are properly staged and available to maintain continuous workflow.
  • Verify production processes are completed according to work orders, engineering specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor material usage and communicate shortages, defects, or discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
  • Support coordination with inventory, maintenance, quality, and shipping departments to resolve operational issues.
  • Assist with machine setup verification and ensure equipment is operating efficiently throughout the shift.
  • Monitor production output and adjust labor resources as necessary to meet production requirements.
  • Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Promote safe work habits and proper use of equipment, machinery, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety requirements.
  • Identify and address unsafe conditions or behaviors and elevate concerns as appropriate.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process and ensure adherence to established standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work environment consistent with 5S principles.
  • Monitor departmental productivity, efficiency, and quality metrics.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and support to improve individual and team performance.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new employees and cross-training of existing team members.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, minimize downtime, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Support Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in problem-solving activities related to production, quality, and process improvements.

The EPS 4Production Coordinator oversees daily production activities within the EPS department, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of garage door sections, components, and related parts. This role provides leadership and hands‑on support to production team members while maintaining production schedules, quality standards, and operational efficiency. The RPS Production Coordinator also coordinates work assignments, monitors production output, and supports continuous improvement initiatives designed to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and achieve production goals.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Daily Operations
  • Lead, assign, and coordinate daily activities of RPS team members to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.

  • Operate manufacturing equipment, hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment as required.
  • Assist with labor planning and staffing coverage to support production demands.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, quality, engineering, and other cross‑functional teams.
  • Complete required production documentation and departmental records accurately and timely.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or a related production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and basic technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Continuous learner with a focus on adaptability and process improvement.
  • Willingness to be visible on the shop floor and engage with team members daily.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to support cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in garage door manufacturing or a related manufacturing industry.
  • Experience operating manufacturing equipment and material handling devices.
  • Experience in a lead, trainer, or supervisory capacity.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. unassisted with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials weighing more than 45 lbs. using team lifting procedures.
