Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Building Envelope division in Houston, TX to lead hourly production teammates, ensure safety, quality and productivity, and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing floor.

The role requires strong leadership, 5+ years of supervisory experience in a production setting (union environment preferred), and familiarity with ERP systems. A associate’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years prior supervisory experience in a production-driven environment; union environment preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written methods.
  • Proficient with Office or Google tools.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, schedules, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information, write reports, business correspondence, and articulate complex or technical information.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Flexible working overtime as required will be required to cover Production Manager absence.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Hazmat certification/training a plus.
  • Minimum education of associate’s degree preferred.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role shall supervise, coordinate activities, and drive accountability of hourly production teammates by performing duties relating to safety, quality, production, team member relations, scheduling, and continuous improvement. This position is responsible for leading the Production department to achieve safety, quality, and production goals. The position must use strong leadership skills to direct, control, and coordinate the objectives of the manufacturing environment and continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides real time strategic and tactical adjustments as needed to achieve safety, quality, and production targets. The supervisor has the necessary authority to ensure the department is operating safely and efficiently by driving teammate accountability.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations within an assigned area.
  • Investigates and reports accidents and unsafe work conditions or actions.
  • Ensures safety, quality, and execution by leading assigned work groups, monitors processes and coordinates production and flow.
  • Plans and coordinates production to ensure schedule attainment, production volume and labor utilization
  • Role is responsible for teammate relations, discipline, and accountability.(performance, attendance, productivity)
  • Conducts and participates in daily safety meetings, conducts regular audits encouraging and modeling safe behaviors.
  • Aids, manages, coordinates, and monitors teammate training and performance.
  • Assign tasks to team members to meet and exceed goals striving to continuously improve.
  • Continuously monitors all operations to maintain safe working environment, reduce waste, reduce defects, and ensure productivity.
  • Monitor processes, products, and teammates to ensure production quality and productivity standards are met by identifying any off-standard conditions and taking immediate, appropriate corrective action.
  • Coordinates with other departments regarding schedule, production status, defective materials, and inventories.
  • Assembles data, and completes reports as assigned.
  • Works in an industrial environment in ambient temperatures or similar elements for the entirety of the shift.
  • Obtains answers to questions for teammates on company benefits, policies, hours, vacations, and or guides them to the appropriate authority for help.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Administer, review, create and update standard work, work instruction, specifications and other task related documents.
  • Routine interaction with multiple levels of upper management surrounding plant and assigned area performance
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Required Work Experience: 5+ years prior supervisory experience in a production driven environment, unionenvironment preferred
