Job summary

Atrium Health in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking an Epilepsy Technologist to perform and support EEG procedures, including ICU/EMU and outpatient studies such as PET, SPECT, Wada and ambulatory studies.

The role requires a CAAHEP credential or 18 months related experience, 3+ years as an Epilepsy Technologist, and ABRET R.EEG T. certification. You will assist other technologists, review data for seizures, and participate in on-call EEG coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and CAAHEP graduation in Neurodiagnostic Technology or 18 months related field experience.
• 3+ years of experience as an Epilepsy Technologist.
• R.EEG T. certification through ABRET.

Responsibilities

• Subject Matter Expert and assist other Epilepsy Technologist with complex or unique matters.
• Performs the application and removal of electrodes.
• Reviews data for seizure activity and abnormalities. Edits data for physician review.
• Assists nursing staff with patients during seizures, maintaining patient safety.
• Performs seizure testing with patients during their events.
• Performs outpatient procedures such as PET, SPECT, Wada and Ambulatory studies.
• Performs CEEG procedures in the ICU setting.
• Performs intracranial monitoring in the EMU and OR.
• Communicates with coworkers and physicians about changes in patient status.
• Assists other areas of Diagnostic Neurology.
• On call responsibilities for EEG.

• 3+ Years of experience as an Epilepsy Technologist.
