Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond's Department of Neurology is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to support a dynamic epilepsy research portfolio, including clinical trials, quality improvement, and outcome measurement.

The CRC will assist the PI with study start-up through closeout, screen and recruit participants, coordinate visits, manage data in REDCap and sponsor databases, and ensure compliance with IRB and GCP standards. CITI training is required and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 1 year of experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of clinical research principles and human subjects protection
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Prior administrative, coordination, or project support experience
• Commitment to respectful, professional conduct with diverse populations

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage clinical research activities from study start-up through closeout
• Screen, recruit, and consent eligible participants per protocol and IRB
• Schedule visits and ensure protocol adherence and participant safety
• Data collection, source documentation, and data entry in REDCap or sponsor databases
• Prepare regulatory documentation and support IRB submissions and audits
