Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator 1-3 to support the Neurosurgery division within the School of Medicine. The role emphasizes 24/7 enrollment coverage for acute care clinical trials and coordination across multiple services in the hospital.

The selected candidate will conduct clinical research under Senior Coordination staff, handle data entry, regulatory tasks, and IRB submissions, and may supervise per diem staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with guidance from PI and senior staff.
• Flexibility with working hours and shift requirements.
• Exhibits professionalism and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organization, time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in subject recruitment: pre-screening and screening.
• Enrollment of eligible study participants.
• Conduct the informed consent process.
• Monitor patients within VCU Health during participation and follow-up.
• Access data capture/retrieval systems to identify potential participants.
• Supervise per diem CRCs and assist with scheduling duties.
• Maintenance of study documents.
• Support PI and senior staff to ensure compliance with study requirements.
• Assist with study close-out activities.
• Enter study data into sponsor CRFs, databases, and OnCore system.
• Review and respond to sponsor queries in required timeframes.
• Prepare IRB submissions including initial submissions, continuing reviews, amendments, safety reports, and SAE reporting.
