Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator to support a expanding Neurology epilepsy portfolio, coordinating visits, data management, and regulatory submissions under the PI and CRC leadership.

You will work hybrid, support industry-sponsored trials (IQVIA), ensure IRB compliance, and help with grant accounting, trainee engagement, and study logistics in a fast-paced research environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent combination of education and experience) and 1 year of experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of clinical research principles and human subjects protection.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Prior administrative, coordination, or project support experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with diverse faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage clinical research activities from study start up through closeout.
• Screen, recruit, and consent eligible study participants in accordance with protocol and IRB requirements.
• Schedule and coordinate study visits; ensure protocol adherence and participant safety.
• Conduct and support study visit procedures, including data collection and source documentation.
• Perform medical record abstraction and assist in database development.
• Manage data entry and maintenance in research systems (e.g., REDCap, Excel, sponsor databases).
• Perform quality control checks to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and protocol compliance.
