Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking an Epidemiologist to support a government customer in San Antonio, TX at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. The role focuses on data pipelines, analytics, and regulatory compliance within AMWD and DHA AVHE environments.

The successful candidate will leverage SAS/EG and SQL to manage data, perform health surveillance analytics, and contribute to manuscript-ready outputs while adhering to HIPAA and NDA requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Epidemiology is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in the field of epidemiology or related field.
• At least 5 years of using SAS/EG or SQL.
• Must be current in HIPAA training.
• Demonstrated advanced analytical skills in population health and health data surveillance.
• Experience with descriptive statistics and statistical study design.
• Willing to sign NDA for access to confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Develop data processes for Aero-Medical Waiver Division’s data interpretation and access.
• Create and maintain data pipelines to secure DHA AVHE environment.
• Assist in designing investigations based on data availability and quality.
• Interpret data products from the AWARE team and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Validate data products and assist in model corrections when needed.
• Draft internal and external communications and briefings.
• Provide data access permissions and participate in interdisciplinary planning.
• Support dissemination through conferences, posters, and manuscripts.
