Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC seeks an Epidemiologist to support a government client in San Antonio, TX at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. Responsibilities include building data pipelines, interpreting health data, and ensuring HIPAA compliance across multiple systems.

Qualifications include a Master’s in Epidemiology, 2+ years in the field, and 5+ years using SAS/EG or SQL, with strong analytical and communication skills. U.S. citizenship and background screening required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Epidemiology is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in the field.
• Minimum of 5 years using SAS/EG or SQL.
• HIPAA training current required for access to data.
• Strong analytical skills including visual analytics.
• Ability to design, conduct, and lead analyses of health surveillance data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Aero-Medical Waiver Division data processes and pipelines.
• Create, validate, and operate data pipelines to DHA AVHE ensuring quality, accessibility, and security.
• Assist in developing investigation plans based on data quality and availability.
• Interpret data products from the AWARE team, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Perform validation protocols and correct models as needed.
• Draft internal/external communications and brief findings to leadership.
• Acquire necessary data access permissions and work with USAF/DoD systems.
