Qualifications

• Must be a CPS certified by the Missouri DMH with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience with recovery resources and community services.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community-based work.
• Minimum of 1 year of continuous recovery from substance use.

Job SummaryAssisted Recovery Centers of America (ARCA) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated EPICC Recovery Coach to join our team. The EPICC (Engaging Patients in Care Coordination) program connects individuals aged 14+ with severe opioid use disorder (OUD) to community-based treatment with the assistance of Peer Recovery Coaches. The primary goal of EPICC is to reduce the number of opioid-related deaths in Eastern Missouri by providing support and resources to those in need. The EPICC Recovery Coach will utilize personal lived experience in substance use and recovery to build strong connections with clients through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment. The key function of this role will be to help maintain people currently enrolled in services who have lapsed and or inconsistent participation in treatment, particularly those who are struggling with substance use.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Engagement and Support:Build trusting, supportive relationships with individuals referred to the EPICC program through shared lived experience to support recovery and engagement.Provide one-on-one peer support and recovery coaching, helping clients navigate treatment options and recovery resources.Conduct initial assessments and develop personalized WRAP plans in collaboration with clients. Contact clients weekly to assist in achieving goals and address barriersCommunity Outreach and Coordination:Coordinate with ARCA providers to identify individuals who have missed appointments, have not rescheduled, or may be at risk for substance misuse.Contact all clients who missed more than one appointment, conduct a home visit when appropriate; and maintain a daily call log to track client outreach.Contact clients to provide appointment support, identify barriers such as transportation and childcare, utilize problem-solving skills to help clients overcome barriers and maintain scheduled appointments.Assist clients with accessing and navigating additional resources and services to support sustained recovery, strengthen sobriety, and increase engagement with ARCA services.Assist clients with linkage to external care and support services not provided by ARCA, based on client needs, preferences, and requests.Participate in community outreach efforts to promote the EPICC program and raise awareness about opioid use disorder and recovery resources.Act as a liaison between clients and community-based treatment providers to facilitate seamless transitions and continuity of care.Education and Advocacy:Educate clients and their families about opioid use disorder, recovery strategies, and available community resources.Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare and community support systems.Promote awareness and understanding of opioid use disorder while helping reduce stigma through education and advocacy.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate, timely, and up-to-date documentation of client interactions, assessments, referrals, and progress.Complete reports and other required documentation in accordance with organizational requirements and the Director of Behavioral Health.Maintain client confidentiality and ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA.Collaboration and Teamwork:Collaborate with the Behavioral Health team to coordinate client care, services, and support.Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and required training sessions.Support the development and implementation of recovery-focused programs, services, and initiatives.QualificationsCertification: Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPS) certified by the Missouri Department of Mental Health and have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.Education: A bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field is preferred.Experience: Personal lived experience in substance use and recovery, with a strong understanding of the recovery process.Skills:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to build rapport and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Knowledge: Familiarity with recovery resources, community organizations, and support services related to opioid use disorder.Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community-based work. Must have minimum of (1) year of continuous recovery from substance use.Working ConditionsLocation: Primarily community-based, including home visits and face-to-face client engagement throughout the St. Louis area.
