About the EPICC Program: The Engaging Patients in Care Coordination (EPICC) program is a statewide initiative in Missouri that connects individuals with substance use disorders to treatment, recovery, and support services through community partnerships and personalized care coordination. EPICC is designed to meet people where they are—often after an overdose or other crisis—and walk alongside them toward recovery.
As part of this program, Peer Specialists provide vital support by sharing their lived experience, offering hope, and helping participants navigate the early stages of treatment and beyond. Peer support in the EPICC model is about building trust, reducing stigma, and empowering individuals to take meaningful steps toward lasting recovery.
