Job summary

Vail Resorts is hiring for winter 2026/27 across the Ski & Ride School, including Instructors and more. The Certified Instructor role emphasizes safety, skilled instruction, and delivering an exceptional guest experience on high alpine terrain.

Starting wage is $21.00 per hour, with potential increases through teaching incentives and performance-based rewards. Employment is winter seasonal 2026/2027 with full-time hours available; housing may be provided and benefits include an EPIC Pass,

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High School or equivalent education.
• Ability to attend all required Ski and Ride training sessions.
• PSIA/AASI Level 1, 2 or 3 certification (international equivalent ok).
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Team-oriented and able to work in a busy environment.
• Background check clearance required.
• Ability to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment.
• Ability to learn, follow directions and demonstrate skiing/snowboarding skills.
• Willingness to teach both adults and children.
• Provide two letters of reference.
• Available to work holidays and weekends.
• Commitment to wearing helmet as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Uphold guest safety on varied terrain in winter conditions.
• Clearly and accurately instruct skiing to students of all levels.
• Match students to appropriate skill levels and adjust as needed.
• Assist guests with transportation of equipment to and from snow.
• Explain how to load/unload the chairlift clearly.
• Supervise children in class and return them to guardians.
• Assist in registration, equipment fitting, and teaching area upkeep.
• Teach skiing at all levels based on ability and experience.
• Follow rules and guidelines for Ski & Ride programs.
• Discuss lesson content and progress with guests.
• Demonstrate skiing/snowboarding models clearly and safely.
• Provide high-quality guest service and effective communication.
• Assist with boot/equipment fitting and front-desk duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
