Job summary

Sentara seeks an Epic Senior Security Analyst to manage user access and security policies within the Epic EHR system. You will coordinate with IT, Compliance, Privacy, and Epic analysts to maintain secure access and regulatory compliance across the organization.

Role requires 7–10 years IT security experience, HIPAA knowledge, and hands-on work with AD/SSO/MFA and identity management. Enterprise-wide security improvements and audits are core to this position.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years IT experience with healthcare security exposure.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH regulations and privacy requirements.
• Experience with AD, SSO, MFA and identity management solutions.
• Ability to design secure access controls and RBAC models for Epic.

Responsibilities

• Manage user access, templates, and security roles within Epic.
• Configure EMP records, SER security, and role-based access aligned to job functions.
• Conduct security audits and access reviews for HIPAA compliance.
• Work with Compliance, Privacy, and Epic analysts to address risks.
• Monitor logs and security reports to detect unauthorized access.
• Troubleshoot provisioning errors and authentication issues in Epic.
• Collaborate on AD/SSO integration and identity management initiatives.
• Develop and maintain Epic security policies and documentation.
