Job summary

Driscoll Children’s Hospital is seeking an Epic Pharmacy Informatics Specialist to join our Epic Applications team. You will focus on configuring, optimizing, and maintaining Epic Willow applications to support safe medication management across our health system.

Pharmacists with Epic experience or a strong interest in informatics are encouraged to apply. Prior pediatric pharmacy exposure and PGY-2 training are a plus as we collaborate with Pharmacy Operations and IT to enhance workflows.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BPharm degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Active Pharmacist license in Texas or eligible by reciprocity.
• Hospital/inpatient pharmacy experience or clinical rotations.
• Experience with Epic Willow is preferred.
• Pharmacy informatics experience or Epic configuration is a plus.
• Pediatric pharmacy experience and PGY-2 residency are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, test, and maintain Epic Willow applications (Inpatient, Ambulatory, Inventory).
• Configure medication records and order settings within Epic.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve system functionality and workflows.
• Test and validate changes to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Pharmacy Operations to review system needs and workflows.
• Work with Epic analysts, IT, and other departments for integration.
• Maintain documentation of configurations and changes.
• Oversee development and maintenance of the Pharmacy CDM.

Driscoll Children's Hospital is seeking an Epic Pharmacy Informatics Specialist to join our Epic Applications team! This position focuses on the technical configuration, optimization, and maintenance of Epic Willow applications to support safe, efficient medication management across our health system. Previous pharmacy informatics experience is a plus, but not required! We welcome pharmacists with strong Epic experience and an interest in transitioning into informatics.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, test, and maintain Epic Willow applications, including Inpatient, Ambulatory, and Inventory.
• Configure medication records, order settings, and other pharmacy-related functionality within Epic.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and identify opportunities to improve system functionality and pharmacy workflows.
• Test and validate system changes, upgrades, and new functionality to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and patient safety.
• Collaborate with Pharmacy Operations through weekly meetings to review system needs, discuss workflow improvements, and address concerns.
• Work closely with Epic application analysts, IT teams, and other departments to support system integration and optimization.
• Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, updates, and changes.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of the Pharmacy Charge Description Master (CDM).

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Current licensure as a Pharmacist, either by reciprocity or examination by an approved State Board of Pharmacy.
• Inpatient/hospital pharmacy experience or clinical rotations in a hospital setting.
• Preferred: Experience using Epic Willow applications.
• Previous pharmacy informatics or Epic configuration experience.
• Pediatric pharmacy experience.
• PGY-2 residency training.
