Job summary

Delta Dental of California is seeking an Epic Patient Access & Experience Applications Lead to own the design, implementation, and optimization of Epic patient access applications. The role balances hands-on Epic analyst work with people leadership, guiding a high-performing team through registration, scheduling, pre-visit intake, MyChart, and engagement workflows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise healthcare applications with at least 1 year in people leadership or lead analyst role.
• Extensive hands-on Epic Patient Access and Patient Engagement experience in build, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Primary experience with Cadence, Prelude, MyChart, Hello World, Cheers, Welcome workflows and CRM initiatives.
• Ability to translate operational, patient experience, and compliance requirements into Epic configuration through collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
• Proven experience mentoring Epic analysts and maintaining Epic certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, and optimization for Epic Patient Access and Patient Experience applications across registration, scheduling, and pre-visit workflows.
• Act as senior technical authority for Epic applications, ensuring stability, performance, and compliance.
• Balance hands-on analysis with people leadership and analyst development.
• Drive governance, roadmap planning, and collaboration with Infrastructure, Security, and Data teams.
• Lead change and release governance, testing, and deployment activities.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, performance management, and mentorship to analysts.
• Identify workflow and configuration improvements using operational metrics and system data.
• Design automation and efficiency improvements across patient access workflows and engagement tools.
• Oversee multi-site Epic deployments, onboarding, training, go-live support, and stabilization.
