Job summary

SmartIMS Inc. is seeking an experienced Epic End User Trainer to lead comprehensive training for clinicians and staff. The role focuses on planning, delivering, and evaluating end-user training for Epic EHR and related enterprise applications.

You will guide physicians, nurses, and revenue cycle teams, ensuring proficiency, confidence, and safe use of Epic workflows to support patient care and business operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level education in relevant fields or equivalent combination with healthcare IT training.
• Epic Credentialed Trainer or Epic Principal Trainer certificate in at least one Epic application area.
• Minimum 3 years of healthcare IT end user training or Epic experience.
• Proven ability to deliver instructor-led and virtual training to adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate end-user training for Epic EHR and related enterprise applications.
• Train physicians, APPs, nurses, revenue cycle staff, and care team members to proficiently use Epic workflows.
• Ensure learners are confident and safe in clinical and business processes.
• Support go-live events, go-live trainings, and training events; travel may be required.

40 hours per week Monday through Friday in east coast hours.

Location:Hybrid; may require up to 50% travel for instructor-led classroom delivery, at-the-elbow go-live support and training events.

This role focuses on the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of end user training for the Epic electronic health record (EHR) and related enterprise applications. The Epic End User Trainer ensures that physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, revenue cycle staff, and other members of the care team are proficient, confident, and safe in using Epic workflows to deliver patient care and support business operations.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Informatics, Education, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

2. Epic Credentialed Trainer or Epic Principal Trainer certificate in at least one Epic application area, such as Ambulatory (Epic Ambulatory/Cadence), Inpatient Clinical Documentation (ClinDoc/Orders/ASAP), or Revenue Cycle (Prelude/Resolute/Grand Central)

3. Three (3) years of experience in healthcare IT end user training, clinical education, or Epic application support, including at least one (1) year of hands-on experience with Epic.

4. Demonstrated experience delivering both instructor-led (classroom and virtual) and at-the-elbow training to adult learners.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Active Epic application proficiency or certification (e.g., Epic Ambulatory, Cadence, Prelude, ClinDoc, Orders, ASAP, OpTime/Anesthesia, Radiant, Beaker, Willow, Resolute PB/HB, Cupid, or MyChart) relevant to the training area; multi-application proficiency is highly desirable.

2. Epic Physician Builder or Epic provider-training credentials when supporting physician and APP education.

3. Clinical licensure or background (e.g., RN, LPN, RT, PharmD, MA, or similar) for clinical training tracks; revenue cycle or patient access background for revenue cycle training tracks.

4. Professional training or instructional design credential, such as ATD Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM), CompTIA CTT+, or equivalent.

5. Healthcare IT credential, such as CPHIMS, CAHIMS, or CHTS-TR.

6. Experience with Epic Learning Home, Epic training/playground environments, and tip-sheet and learning-home content development; experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia) and Learning Management Systems.

7. Experience supporting at least one full-scale Epic implementation, go-live, or major version upgrade.
