Job summary

Nephrology Associates of Northern Illinois and Indiana in Oak Brook, IL is seeking an Epic Clinical Applications & Optimization Lead (Acumen/Ambulatory). The role leads end-user education, optimizes clinical workflows, and drives adoption of Epic across the practice.

As the internal Epic/Acumen SME, you will partner with physicians, clinicians, operations, revenue cycle, and IT to translate needs into improvements, coordinate testing, and support go-lives within our hosted Epic environment.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience supporting Epic applications, training, workflows, or optimization in ambulatory/physician-practice settings.
• Current Epic certification with track identified and continuing education up to date.
• Experience training physicians and staff and creating education materials.
• Ability to analyze workflows, document requirements, coordinate testing, and lead improvements.
• Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage priorities, document clearly, and drive follow-through.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, information systems, education, business, or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-user education and training for Epic, Acumen, and related workflows.
• Create and maintain workflow guides, reference materials, and training videos.
• Observe and optimize clinical workflows, partnering with leaders to improve documentation and processes.
• Provide Epic feature guidance, personalization, and documentation tools; coordinate host changes with Acumen.
• Maintain backlog of enhancements and issues with Acumen/Interwell; communicate status to stakeholders.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, validate workflows, and support go-lives and post-implementation follow-up.
• Collaborate with IT, operations, revenue cycle, and providers to standardize practices and governance requirements.
