Epic Certified Research Billing Analyst with expertise in Research Billing to support our clinical research and revenue cycle operations. The analyst will be responsible for analyzing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining Epic modules related to Research Billing, including the Epic Research module (Epic Research/Research Billing Review), Resolute Professional, and associated workflows. This role ensures compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies for clinical research billing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clinical research teams, revenue cycle, compliance, and IT to configure and optimize Epic for research billing workflows
  • Support and maintain Epic’s Research functionality, including study calendar builds, coverage analysis integration, billing grids, and Research Billing Review (RBR)
  • Work closely with the revenue integrity team to ensure research charges are appropriately routed, held, reviewed, and billed in compliance with CMS guidelines
  • Develop and execute test plans, validate builds, and troubleshoot issues related to research billing
  • Train end users and provide go-live support for research billing workflows
  • Monitor system performance, investigate user-reported issues, and implement necessary changes or escalations
  • Maintain clear documentation for system configurations, workflows, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and CMS regulations related to research billing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, IT, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Epic Analyst and minimum of 3 years with a focus on research billing
  • Epic certification in Research
  • Experience with Epic Research module, Resolute Billing Review, Resolute PB, and related build/configuration
  • Strong understanding of clinical research billing compliance, coverage analysis, and CMS guidelines
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
