Job summary

Clarity Partners seeks an Epic Applications & Project Manager to lead one track of an Epic inpatient clinical portfolio on a large client project. You will oversee build, workflows, testing, readiness, go-live, and transition to steady-state operations for your track — either inpatient orders/pharmacy or emergency and inpatient clinical docs.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and communicate with executive stakeholders while ensuring delivery on time and within scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Clinical Informatics, Business, or related field.
• 7+ years of healthcare IT experience with clinical applications.
• Experience leading Epic implementations in large healthcare settings.
• Experience guiding Epic teams through design, build, testing, go-live, and stabilization.
• Background in inpatient, pharmacy, or emergency department workflows.
• Epic certification or accreditation preferred; ability to obtain within program timelines.
• PMP or comparable project management certification preferred.
• Experience with budgets, schedules, staffing, vendors, and change management.
• Experience in consulting or staff augmentation environments preferred.

Clarity Partners is seeking an Epic Applications & Project Manager to provide dedicated leadership and oversight for one track of our client's Epic inpatient clinical application portfolio. In this role, you will lead application build, clinical workflows, testing, dependencies, readiness, go-live, and transition to ongoing operations for your assigned track — either the inpatient orders and pharmacy/inventory systems, or the emergency and inpatient clinical documentation systems. This is a full-time opportunity on a large-scale client facing project.

Responsibilities

• Lead Epic application build and configuration decisions for the assigned application track.
• Lead clinical and, where applicable, medication workflow design and validation sessions
• Direct testing activities (unit, integration, end-to-end) across the assigned applications.
• Manage cross-application and cross-team dependencies through the implementation timeline.
• Lead go-live readiness assessments and go-live execution for the assigned track.
• Own the transition from go-live support into ongoing operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Clinical Informatics, Business, or a related field required; equivalent progressively responsible experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible healthcare IT experience, including significant experience implementing and supporting clinical applications.
• Recent, hands-on experience leading Epic implementations within academic medical centers, safety-net hospitals, large integrated health systems, or similarly complex healthcare environments required.
• Current or very recent experience leading Epic application and technical teams through the full implementation lifecycle, including design, workflow and build decisions, testing, readiness, cutover, go-live, and stabilization.
• Background in at least one of the following application tracks required:
• Track A – Inpatient Orders & Pharmacy: EpicCare Inpatient Orders, Willow Inpatient Pharmacy, and Willow Inpatient Inventory
• Track B – Emergency & Clinical Documentation: Epic ASAP and EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation
• Direct experience with the Epic applications in the assigned track strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of inpatient, pharmacy, and emergency department workflows, healthcare operations, and the technical and operational considerations of enterprise EHR implementations.
• Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and manage relationships with executive-level clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders.
• Experience managing complex project budgets, implementation schedules, staffing plans, vendors, and subcontractors, along with strong organizational change management and end-user adoption experience.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts for clinical and business audiences.
• Epic certification or accreditation in a relevant application area preferred; ability to obtain required Epic certification or accreditation within established program timelines required.
• PMP or comparable project management certification preferred.
• Experience working with public health systems, safety-net institutions, or county or government healthcare organizations preferred.
• Previous experience in a consulting or staff augmentation environment preferred.

Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Epic Applications & Project Manager, the base salary pay range is $125,000 - $145,000. The range represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting. Compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
