Job summary

FMOLHS is seeking an Epic Application System Analyst 3 to design, configure, support and maintain Epic modules ensuring workflow alignment and data integrity across facilities. The role emphasizes problem solving, collaboration with IS leaders and end users, and adherence to security and privacy standards.

The ideal candidate has Epic certification with 3 years of Epic analyst experience and 5 years in IS systems or 7 years in healthcare, plus a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as an Epic Certified analyst or 5 years of IS System Application experience OR 7 years in healthcare, clinical, or business operations
• Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of experience as licensed health care clinical professional, business operations or information systems
• Working Conditions include multiple interruptions, occasional travel, and sedentary work; strong communication and problem‑solving skills
• License and Certification: EPIC Certification

Responsibilities

• Facilitates vision development, solution design, standards guidance, project scoping and IS strategy integration for Epic systems
• Evaluates technology and workflow, designs and tests Epic applications, documents system descriptions and requirements
• Uses project management methods to ensure timely project development and completion
• Collaborates with Information Services, leaders and end users to design efficient, cost-conscious Epic specifications
• Develops data-driven performance improvement methodologies and maintains accurate records for performance evaluation
• Ensures data security, integrity and privacy in line with FMOLHS policies
• Stays current with industry trends through seminars/workshops and professional affiliations
• Applies IS project management best practices to improve efficiency and outcomes

Job description

The Epic Application System Analyst 3 designs, configures, supports and maintains accurate and efficient Information Services technology, applications and programs to maximize organizational performance. Provides technical, systems and applications support to FMOLHS facilities and users. Provides ongoing analysis and problem‑solving to ensure the integration of Epic in effective workflow and process design.

Job Duties

1. Facilitates vision development, solution design, standards guidance, project scoping, IS strategy integration and implementation of efficient, high quality Epic systems.
2. Evaluates technology, systems and application capabilities, analyzes workflow/data flow, and creates efficient and logical solutions. Plans, schedules, reviews, and performs analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation of assigned technology and application systems. Participates in solution testing and documents clear and concise system descriptions that meet project requirements and departmental quality standards.
3. Utilizes organizational project management methodology, processes, and systems to ensure effective and efficient project development and completion. Evaluates requests for programming and provides timetables for completion.
4. Collaborates with FMOLHS Information Services, leaders, team members and end users to develop efficient, cost‑conscious technology and applications system specifications that maximize organizational performance.
5. Develops and implements data driven performance improvement methodologies. Maintains accurate records for use in evaluating organizational performance. Identifies ways of improving current services and consults with management on issues and problems.
6. Ensures security, integrity, and privacy of FMOLHS data in conjunction with FMOLHS policies and procedures.
7. Strives to promote the quality and efficiency of his/her own performance by remaining current with the latest trends in field of expertise through participation in job‑relevant seminars and workshops, attendance at professional conferences, and affiliations with national and state professional organizations.
8. Utilizes IS project management methodology and best practices to improve individual and organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and outcomes.

1. 3 years of experience as an Epic Certified analyst and 5 years of IS System Application experience OR 7 years of experience in healthcare, clinical, or business operations
