Job summary

Mary Free Bed in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Epic Systems Analyst to support implementation and optimization of Epic modules and related third-party solutions. You will design workflows, build configurations, and maintain documentation to ensure projects meet requirements and quality standards.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, testing, and change control, with training and status updates to leadership as projects progress.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years Healthcare, IT or finance/account receivable experience.
  • Must obtain and maintain vendor certification in specified application within 6 months of attending first Vendor course.
  • Strong understanding of departmental policies, procedures, and workflows and how they interrelate with other departments.
  • Strong computing skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, web browsing, issue tracking and email.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates functional knowledge of Epic, applicable third-party solutions, and Microsoft suite of products.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of processes within the business lines supported, assesses workflow methods, identifies gaps, determines necessary workflow changes, and develops workflows alongside customers related to the implementation of new solutions or functionality.
  • Designs, builds, and configures within assigned Epic system modules and any supporting third-party solutions; develops and maintains process documentation using appropriate tools.
  • Develops and maintains test scripts for workflow testing; performs testing per department requirements.
  • Ensures that application changes and upgrades are working properly.
  • Follows departmental standards for change control and quality assurance; provides documentation on system changes and provides training, if applicable.
  • Troubleshoots issues and initiates escalation procedures with minimal supervision and provides proposals for resolution of the issues found.
  • Participates in or leads cross-functional projects; Understands project planning and coordination methods using project management tools and skills.
  • Actively participates in meetings, as needed.
  • Provides status updates on work to leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Customer Service Responsibilities: Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members.
  • Responsibilities in Quality Improvement: Identify problems and seek solutions; monitor and report customer service.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates functional knowledge of Epic, applicable third-party solutions, and Microsoft suite of products.

Essential Job Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills including the ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, and maintain issues lists.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work independently as well as in small or large teams.
  • Demonstrates the ability to resolve problems timely and effectively.
  • Must be detail oriented and have a skill for probing for information in order to fully understand the underlying needs that drive how the system should be built.
  • Must be approachable and have the ability to deal positively with employees at all levels of the organization.
