Job summary

Duke Energy in North Carolina seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead EPC contractor relationships within the Gas Generation Program and ensure successful project delivery. You will partner with Project Management, Supply Chain, and EPC leadership to align performance, budgeting, and governance across the lifecycle.

The role requires 7+ years of experience in large capital projects, strong leadership, and expertise in risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years related experience, or High School/GED and 11 years.
• Preferred: Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or Project Management.
• MBA, Master's, PMP, PE, AACE or other relevant certification.
• Familiarity with utility operations, project controls, commercial management, and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of accountability for EPC contractor relationships across the Gas Generation Program.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with EPC partners and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Legal, Project Management, Construction, and Project Controls teams on contractor performance, issue resolution, commercial matters, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor program-wide EPC performance and identify trends, risks, lessons learned, and opportunities for improved execution.
• Lead efforts to identify and address systemic issues affecting multiple projects, contractors, or workstreams.
• Support project teams throughout the project lifecycle, providing guidance and facilitating effective resolution of commercial and execution challenges.
• Coordinate construction and project performance reporting across stakeholders, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely communication.
• Support development of monthly program reporting, executive dashboards, and governance materials for senior leadership.
• Facilitate cross-functional reviews focused on contractor performance, program health, risk mitigation, and execution excellence.
• Promote best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the Gas Generation program.
