Job summary

PowerSecure, Inc. in Durham, NC, seeks a Project Manager II to ensure safe installation of DI equipment and successful execution of EPC projects on time and within budget.

You will handle project initiation, procurement oversight, budget and schedule control, and closeout, while leading strategic initiatives and mentoring junior staff. You will manage high-value, multi-disciplinary projects, coordinate with utilities and regulatory bodies, and drive continuous improvement across project

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field AND 6+ years of experience in energy or construction industries or a High School Diploma with 8+ years experience in construction/energy industries.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with budgets exceeding $15M.
• OSHA 10/30 certification.
• Knowledge of permitting and environmental compliance standards.
• Experience coordinating utility interconnection requirements and regulatory approvals.
• Mentoring junior project managers or coordinators.
• Proficiency in MS Project and Procore; risk/change management experience.
• Strong financial acumen including forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and healthy work sites by following company standards and legal requirements.
• Lead complex, multi-phase projects with strategic importance.
• Serve as primary point of contact for stakeholders.
• Develop and implement risk management plans and contingency strategies.
• Oversee project portfolio performance metrics and report to senior leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project execution processes.
• Lead post-project reviews and lessons-learned sessions.
• Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and client presentations.
• Mentor and coach Project/Construction Manager I-level staff.
• Collaborate with finance and operations to optimize resource allocation.
• Lead permitting and interconnection coordination with utilities and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with environmental mitigation measures and safety regulations.
• Manage subcontractor selection, scope definition, and performance tracking.
• Oversee RFIs, change orders, and close-out packages.
• Maintain project documentation using Procore and other PM tools.
