Matrix PDM Engineering in North Carolina is seeking a Construction Engineer (EPC) to provide engineering information to supervision and crafts, ensuring adherence to standards, codes and specifications. The role emphasizes interpretation of designs, documentation, RFIs, and coordination with clients and contractors.

The candidate should have a BS in Engineering (MS preferred), 0–2+ years of experience, and familiarity with PFDs/P&IDs, 3D/2D routing, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering is required; MS degree preferred.
• 0-2+ years related engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of PFDs and P&IDs; 3D/2D routing, equipment and piping specs, and isometric drawings development is required.
• Knowledge of API, AWS and ACI standards, industry practices and ASME Section VIII is strongly preferred.
• Ability to understand client specifications, procurement, commissioning and start-up standards, documentation, vendor data approvals, etc.
• Experience using standard computer programs; familiarity with MS Project or Primavera is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interprets the design or drawings for crafts installing material.
• Researches and resolves drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences and errors.
• Prepares as-built drawings, submittals, and tracks them.
• Reviews constructability of design and conducts value-engineering functions.
• Attends meetings with clients, contractors or A/E representatives and distributes notes.
