Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions in Tolleson, AZ is seeking an experienced Refrigerated Trailer Mechanic (Reefer Tech) to perform repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics on Carrier and Thermo King reefer units. This role requires a strong hands-on background with diesel-powered refrigeration systems and A/C components.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, complete PMs, conduct DOT inspections, document repairs, and ensure safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ hands-on experience with reefer units and trailer refrigeration systems.
• Strong proficiency with reefer (diesel-powered) units, PMs, and A/C systems.
• EPA Section 608 Certification is required.
• Experience repairing refrigeration units (diesel engine) on heavy-duty trailers.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Own and maintain personal tools for the role.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Able to pass pre-employment screenings (drug screen, possibly DOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform timely repairs and maintenance on reefer units, including diesel-powered refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical issues on trailer reefers.
• Complete preventive maintenance and service on A/C and refrigeration systems.
• Conduct DOT inspections and trailer repairs when reefers are in operation.
• Ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
• Document repairs and complete work orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and tools.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Collaborate with supervisors and teammates to support fleet operations.
