Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions in Middletown, OH seeks an experienced Refrigerated Trailer Mechanic (Reefer Tech). The role focuses on timely repairs and diagnostics of Carrier and Thermo King reefer units and APUs, ensuring safe and efficient operation of refrigerated equipment.

You will diagnose refrigeration, electrical and mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, conduct DOT inspections, document work orders, and adhere to safety standards.

Qualifications

5+ years’ hands-on experience working on reefer units and trailer refrigeration systems.
Strong proficiency with reefer (diesel-powered refrigeration) units, PMs, and A/C systems.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to own and maintain personal tools for the role.
Willingness to pass pre-employment screenings including DOT as applicable.

Responsibilities

Perform timely repairs and maintenance on reefer units and diesel-powered refrigeration systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical issues on trailer reefer units.
Complete preventive maintenance and service on A/C and refrigeration systems.
Conduct DOT inspections and trailer repairs when units are in working condition.
Accurately document repairs and complete work orders.
