Job description

Verde Law, PLLC is a fast-growing bilingual immigration and personal injury law firm headquartered in Miami and serving clients across all 50 states. Our immigration practice is centered on removal defense before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) — asylum, bond, Cuban Adjustment Act, cancellation of removal, and appeals — alongside affirmative filings with USCIS.

About the Role

You will be managing our immigration court cases — preparing removal defense matters from case setup through the individual hearing. You will work directly with our attorneys and a supervising paralegal on a docket where the stakes are a person's ability to remain in the United States. This role is built for someone who has real EOIR experience, treats court dates as sacred, and takes pride in filings that are complete, organized, and on time.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare and assemble EOIR filings — pleadings, motions (bond, continuance, termination), briefs, and evidence packets with exhibit and witness lists formatted to the EOIR Practice Manual
  • Prepare I-589 asylum applications, Cuban Adjustment Act filings, EOIR-42B cancellation applications, and supporting client declarations
  • E-file through ECAS and calendar every master calendar hearing, individual hearing, and call‑up deadline the moment it is known
  • Keep matter records complete and current in Clio — A‑numbers, court dates, detention status, and filing history
  • Communicate with clients in Spanish and English: gather documents and evidence, draft declarations, and prepare clients and witnesses for hearings
  • Submit and track FOIA requests (EOIR, USCIS, ICE, CBP) and review the records received
  • Conduct country‑conditions research and index supporting evidence
  • Give same‑day priority to detained and emergency matters
What We’re Looking For
  • 2+ years of immigration paralegal experience, including direct EOIR / immigration court (removal defense) work — required
  • Full professional fluency in Spanish and English, spoken and written — required
  • Working knowledge of ECAS e‑filing and the EOIR Practice Manual
  • Hands‑on experience building asylum (I‑589) evidence packets; Cuban Adjustment Act or BIA appeals experience is a plus
  • Experience with Clio or comparable case management software preferred
  • Exceptional organization and deadline discipline
