Job summary

Wabash seeks an EOHS Specialist to lead world-class environmental, health and safety performance at the site under the EOHS Manager. You will mentor and train staff, develop compliance plans, and drive a proactive safety culture across operations.

You will oversee EOHS programs, regulatory submittals, SDS support, and recordkeeping, while collaborating with management and employees to strengthen EOHS practices and incident prevention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety or similar major.
• Hazardous Waste Management and special handling.
• Accident prevention

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining and implementing EOHS programs ensuring compliance with regulations and Wabash policies.
• Maintain environmental training, registrations, and permits for facility processes.
• Provide guidance and support to management on EOHS issues across all levels.
• Develop knowledge of facility processes, equipment, materials, and regulated systems.
• Notify EOHS Manager of regulatory issues, incidents, or malfunctions.
• Prepare regulatory submittals or reports to agencies as requested.
• Develop/review procedures to reduce EOHS risks.
• Support SDS program, training, and database; audit materials and conduct HAZCOMM training.
• Maintain organized records demonstrating regulatory compliance.
• Notify responsible parties of EOHS concerns and take action.
• Manage vendor compliance in contractor management system.
• Attend training/meetings to stay proficient in EOHS areas.
• Support EOHS training programs for risk recognition and reduction.
• Discharge ownership of Fire Protection Systems operation, testing, and plan implementation.
• Assist with annual property insurance inspections and record keeping.
• Maintain fall protection inventory; spill response and containment as needed.
• Develop/review Safe Work Instructions and Risk Assessments.
• Foster proactive safety culture and positive behavior reinforcement.
• Utilize Ideagen and other EOHS software for EOHS functions.
• Develop, support, and review CapEx projects for EOHS and related areas.
• Occasional purchasing of EOHS supplies and PPE.
• Conduct EOHS audits/inspections to drive improvements.
