Job summary

Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck seeks an Asst Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program/Counselor/Recruitment Coordinator-Metro to lead services for academically and financially disadvantaged students.

The role combines case management, advising, and recruitment activities, with responsibility for program development, workshops, and supporting persistence to graduation.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Guidance/Counseling, Psychology, Education, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience with academically and economically disadvantaged students preferred.
• Experience in college recruitment, admissions, advisement, and workshops preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Experience using computer systems for word processing, data management, and related applications.
• Available to work non-standard hours with a flexible schedule as needed.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to off-site locations.
• Employment contingent upon a satisfactory background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive program for academically and financially disadvantaged students.
• Serve as a case manager for a cohort of students with academic, career, and financial advising.
• Manage caseload needs and deliver programs, seminars, and workshops on adjustment and transition.
• Enhance student persistence, retention, and performance.
• As Recruitment Coordinator, participate in admissions activities related to EOF recruitment.
• As Academic Coordinator, oversee academic components and provide academic support to participants.
