Job summary

ND Health and Human Services seeks a Department Operations Center Support Specialist in Bismarck, ND to assist the Emergency Preparedness and Response unit with developing, implementing, and coordinating processes for DOC operations. The role includes training staff, monitoring workflows, and maintaining policies to ensure efficient response activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; four years of emergency preparedness/response experience can substitute for the degree.
• Preference for applicants with a medical license (EMT, Paramedic, LPN, RN) and completed ICS training (ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-300, ICS-400, ICS-700, ICS-800).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to organize multiple activities.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination and supervision of staff activities.
• Ensure staff are adequately trained.
• Monitor workflows for efficiency and adjust as needed.
• Monitor supplies and materials during emergency events.
• Establish and update policies and procedures.
• Compile reports for data collection and monitoring.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve processes.
• Assist with after-action reports after each response.
• Engage stakeholders to ensure mission satisfaction.
• Assist with staff scheduling and tracking.
• Develop and implement exercises and educational content.
