Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a talented Payload Systems Performance Analyst to join our Space and Mission Systems team in Colorado. You will perform end-to-end payload performance analyses for EO sensors, evaluate radiometric, spatial, and spectral performance, and develop models for sensor prediction and verification.

Responsibilities include interfacing with Systems Engineering, AI&T, and hardware teams, supporting program gates, and delivering insights that inform design trades and mission

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related field is required with 8+ years of related experience
• Experience with Excel and MATLAB programming is required; familiarity with Python, IDL, STK, DOORS is preferred
• Current, active security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Polygraph is required
• Experience across RF, tactical, or EO system programs from concept to post-delivery support
• Experience analyzing payload systems, identifying key performance drivers, and modeling performance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team and meet schedules

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end payload performance analysis for EO payloads including multispectral systems in visible and IR
• Conduct radiometric, spatial, and spectral performance assessments (calibration, SNR, MTF/PSF, spectral response)
• Simulate unresolved imagery to derive system performance metrics and observables
• Develop modeling and simulation approaches for payload and sensor performance predictions and verification
• Support requirements development, performance budgeting, and verification/validation activities
• Interface with systems engineering, algorithm development, calibration, image processing, and mission operations teams
• Collaborate with AI&T engineers to support test configurations and validation plans
• Work with hardware engineers to analyze performance of demonstrations
• Prepare and deliver presentations to peers, management, and customers
• Support program gates (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and maintain a regular on-site work schedule
• Establish productive relationships within departments and SBUs
