Job summary

EVONA is seeking a Systems Engineer to drive the architecture, analysis, integration, and testing of advanced optical payloads from concept to flight. The role focuses on defining EO/IR system architectures, performing radiometric analyses, and leading payload integration across multiple engineering disciplines.

You will develop test plans, calibration procedures, and qualification strategies for flight hardware, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to support system-level design

Qualifications

• Experience developing complex systems from concept through test and delivery.
• Strong background in EO/IR payloads, optical systems, or space sensors.
• Hands-on experience with optical test equipment, calibration and laboratory environments.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Python or similar analytical tools.
• Experience writing technical documentation, procedures and interface control documents.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define active and passive EO/IR system architectures through technical trade studies.
• Perform radiometric performance modelling and validate results through laboratory and field testing.
• Lead payload integration across electrical, mechanical, thermal, optical and software interfaces.
• Develop test plans, calibration procedures and qualification strategies for flight hardware.
• Manage spacecraft interfaces and support system-level design decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-performance space systems.
